As a sports photographer for nearly 20 years John has won numerous regional competitions including the British Institute of Professional Photography North-West Photographer of the Year, the Press/PR Trophy six times and came third in the Newspaper Society 2008 Sports Photographer of the Year (Free Weekly Newspapers) competition. He was also shortlisted in the 2008 & 2009 Press Gazette Sports Photographer of the Year (Weekly Newspapers) Regional Awards Competitions.
He covers mainly amateur sport for the local press and probably has the most comprehensive library of sports photos covering South Manchester.
He also provides pictures for the national, regional and local press through PR companies and picture libraries.
