John Fryer has been a sports photographer for over twenty years and qualified as a Licentiate of the British Institute of Professional Photography in 1993.
He has been a regular entrant in the BIPP North West Annual Print Competition since 1995 and was North West Photographer of The Year in 1998. He has also won the Licentiate Commercial Trophy twice and the Press/Events Trophy six times.
At national level he was shortlisted in the Press Gazette Regional Awards for Sports Photographer of The Year (Weekly Newspapers) in both 2008 and 2009, and won the Bronze Award for Sports Photographer of The Year (Free Weekly Newspapers) in the Newspaper Society 2009 competition.
